Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez vs Derek “The Lion King” Edwards this Friday

LOS ANGELES, Calif This Friday at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, world ranked Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez and Derek “The Lion King” Edwards clash in litigation agreed to twelve rounds where they bring into play the international bands super middleweight World Boxing Organization (WBO) super middleweight and the North American Boxing Federation (NABF, for its acronym in English) that are held by the first.

LOS ANGELES, California.- Este viernes en la State Farm Arena de Hidalgo, Texas, los clasificados mundiales Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramírez y Derek “The Lion King” Edwards chocarán en pleito pactado a doce rounds en donde se pondrán en juego las fajas internacional súper mediana de la Organización Mundial de Boxeo (OMB) y súper mediana de la Federación Norteamericana de Boxeo (NABF, por sus siglas en inglés) que se encuentran en poder del primero.

Gilberto Ramírez viajó el día de hoy a la ciudad de McCallen para cumplir con las actividades previas a la justa del viernes, la cual será transmitida en Estados Unidos a través de la serie Metro PCS Friday Night Knockout del canal truTV.

La pelea entre Ramírez y Edwards es la estelar de un evento promovido por Top Rank en asociación con Zápari Boxing Promotions y la misma hará avanzar al ganador a una posición privilegiada dentro de los rankings de los cuatro principales organismos mundiales, ya que ambos son altos clasificados dentro de la categoría de las 168 libras (peso súper medio).

El día de mañana el “Zurdo” estará realizando un entrenamiento público para la prensa en las instalaciones del Bad Boyz Gym, en donde también arribará el mexicoamericano Diego Magdaleno, quien tendrá a cargo el combate semifinal de la cartelera junto con el puertorriqueño José “Chelo” González, con quien chocará a doce rounds por la faja internacional ligera de la OMB.

Ramírez alcanzó una gran preparación en la ciudad de Los Ángeles, donde sostuvo sesiones de sparring con boxeadores de estilos semejantes al de Derek Edwards. Algunos de ellos son los estadounidenses Paul Méndez y Shane Mosley Jr. y el medallista de bronce de Londres 2012 el ucraniano Oleksandr Gvozdyk.

“El ‘Zurdo’ Ramírez quiere sorprender a todos los fanáticos de boxeo. Él está listo para para dominar a esta clase de rivales, que son a los que hay que vencer para aspirar a un campeonato del mundo,” aseguró su entrenador Héctor Zápari momentos antes de subir al avión que los llevará a McCallen.

“Tuvimos un tremendo campamento, el muchacho nos respondió muy bien. Ramírez tiene la medicina para todo lo que lleve Edwards a la pelea,” finalizó el entrenador mazatleco.
