VIP Promotions offer £5 tickets to amateur boxers to watch Liverpool show

Steve Wood

VIP Promotions promoter Steve Wood have kindly offered amateur boxers the chance to watch the next VIP Promotions boxing show for just £5.

The event takes place at the Liverpool Olympia on July 25. Headlining the event is local prospect Andy Colquhoun. Colquhoun fights for British light-welterweight title eliminator against former two-weight British champion David Barnes.

The rest of the bill has been stacked with Gary Sykes, Larry Ekundayo, John Quigley, Joe Tonks, Paul Peers, Steve Brogan, Sean Dodd, Lee Hynes and Adam Machaj – They are all set to show case their skills in Liverpool.

Talking about the special offer to amateur boxers, promoter Steve Wood said:

“We wanted to try something a bit different for this show and this is a great chance for any amateur fighters to come along and watch what will be a really exciting night of pro boxing.

“Obviously not all amateurs turn pro, but I’ve been really surprised at how many competing in the unpaid code have never been to a professional show before.  The two sports are very different, and we’re offering amateur boxers the chance to come and see the pro game up close, and have a great night.

“There are a lot of very talented fighters appearing on this show who’ve been excellent amateurs in the past and have made it to the top of the domestic game.  So there’ll be some exciting action and this is a chance not to be missed for any aspiring champions out there.”

Tickets are priced at £5 (amateur fighters with an ABAE card); £30 (general public) and £50 (ringside seats) are available from all boxers, or at vipboxing.tv and Eventim.co.uk
