In the main event on Tuesday night at the Palms Casino resort in Las Vegas, Nevada; WBA “regular” super featherweight champion Javier “El Abejon” Fortuna (29-0-1, 21 KOs) scored a tenth round TKO over Carlos Ivan Velasquez (19-2, 12 KOs).
Fortuna knocked Velasquez down with a hard shot to the top of the head in the second round. Velasquez tried to put up a good fight but was getting punished so bad that referee Russell Mora stopped the fight at :35 in round number ten. If Javier Fortuna continues to keep fighting the way that he does then he has a very promising career in the sport of boxing.
