Liam Smith brings World title to boxing family

Last Saturday night boxing fans at the Manchester arena witnessed Liam smith become WBO light middleweight champion by beating American John Thompson, in a 7th round stoppage.

Liam is one of four professional boxing brothers and the first one to win a world title. All brothers, Callum, Paul and Stephen were ringside to witness this momentous occasion of their brother and Paul the oldest of the quartet told a newspaper in an interview that he “was absolutely buzzing”.

All four brothers train at Gallghers gym owned and trained by the famous Joe Gallagher in Manchester, England.

Joe’s a former British amateur boxer who then became an amateur coach before joining the professional ranks as a trainer.

Joe took over former trainer Billy Graham’s gym in September 2008 calling it Gallaghers Gym but later relocated to Amir Khans gym in Gloves ABC Community Centre, where he’s trained numerous champions, such as Scott Cardle, Scott Quigg, John and Joe Murray, Anthony Crolla, Matthew Macklin and of course Britain’s newest World champ Liam Smith. Well done Joe, great job, keep up the good work.
