Terence Crawford wins by TKO over Jean in the tenth

On Saturday night at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska, undefeated WBO Jr. Welterweight champion Terence Crawford (27-0, 19 KOs) scored a tenth round TKO over Dierry Jean (29-2, 20 KOs).

Making the first defense of his WBO title, Crawford dropped Jean after switching up to a southpaw stance at the end of the first round. As the fight progressed it became clear that Jean would not be able to handle Crawford’s power and relentless pressure. Crawford also put Jean on the canvas in round nine and the final knockdown came in round ten. Referee Tony Weeks had seen enough and stopped the fight at 2:30.

This performance by Terence “Bud” Crawford may have earned him a shot at fighting Manny Pacquiao on PPV in April 2016. That would be a great fight to see and I hope that it get’s made. It’s supposed to be Pacquiao’s last fight and if Crawford can leave the ring with a victory then he will definitely be a star, especially in his home state of Nebraska.
