Well what a year it’s been for Newcastle Michael Ferry as he has rocketed to the pinnacle of the BKB World picking up no less than three titles. The British Heavyweight BKB Title, The Transatlantic BKB title and the World Bare Knuckle Boxing heavyweight BKB title but all roads lead back to avenging a loss early on in his gloved career to Middleborough’s powerhouse the aptly named ‘Big’ John Lewis.

Ferry took quite a heavy loss against Lewis seven years ago at the tender age of 18 and was eager to have another shot to get his own on the strong and talented Lewis.

In what is likely to be the most eagerly awaited rematch in the UK, Team Reps gave Ferry the chance to do just that on the Rise of the Warriors 4 – Redemption’ show in Newcastle last weekend as the two met once more to do battle for the vacant BBU British Heavyweight Title.

In a battle fought over four good rounds of boxing both men more than proved their worth showing skill, experience and power with Ferry taking an early lead but Lewis showing that he was no pushover as he let his experience show. By the end of the third round Lewis seemed to have tired as he returned to his corner with a bloodied face, but came out in the fourth rejuvenated picking up pace looking sharp.

Both fighters managed to catch each other with some powerful shots and both managed to rock each other but in the end Ferry’s speed and skill was just too much for Lewis, handing him the win, the BBU British Title and ‘Redemption’ in a unanimous points decision.
