Unbeaten in 13 fights with 7 knockouts, the exciting 30-year-old has long been talked of as the most naturally talented boxer in Merseyside, but now says he’s finally going to show it in his hardest challenge to date.

“I can’t wait for this fight, it’s going to be a cracker.  We’re both unbeaten and one of us will still be at the end of the fight and that’s going to be me.  Facing someone like Corcoran is going to push me further and make perform like people have never seen me before.  It’s all on the line for me, my record, the title, my future, so there’s no way I’m losing this fight.  I’ve seen plenty of Corcoran, he’s strong and puts on the pressure, but I know I’ve got the punch to take him out at any point and I know I can go the distance if I have to.” Said Selkirk.

Corcoran, known as the “Hellraiser” for his relentless, non-stop punching style, fights out of Wembley and holds a perfect record of 14 fights with 6 KO’s.

The 25-year-old inflicted the first defeat to Rick Skelton’s career in his last fight in September and is looking to claim rival Selkirk’s record next.

“There’s no pressure on me at all in this fight, I can’t see anything other than a Gary Corcoran win.  What’s he got in his armoury? A bit of a punch, that’s it.  He’s not been ten rounds yet at a hard pace so he’s making a mistake if he thinks he’s taking me out early.  I can box or fight him, if he wants to go war, I’ll go to war with him.  This is a great fight for the fans and I’ll be coming away with a late stoppage, from the eighth round onwards, get that title and move on to bigger things in 2016.” Said Corcoran

Chief support on the card see Irish all-action hero Jamie Conlan start his 2016 campaign towards a world title when he he makes the second defence of his WBO Intercontinental Super-Flyweight title against a challenger to be announced.

The exciting 29-year-old from Belfast, who goes by the nickname “The Mexican”, fights with his heart on his sleeves and has become a fan favourite with thrilling wins over Jose Estrella, Junior Granados and Adrian Garzon.

A potential super-fight against Ellesmere Port rival Paul Butler is also getting closer and could happen next year so a win for Conlan is crucial to keep that mouthwatering showdown alive.

A top quality undercard features some of the best in Irish talent, starting with Dublin fighters: lightweight Jamie Kavanagh; super-featherweight Declan Geraghty; lightweight Stephen Ormond and super-featherweight Patrick Hyland.  Also featuring are Crumlin light-welterweight Phillip Sutcliffe Jnr. and the professional debut of amateur star Gary Sweeney.  Completing the card is London super-lightweight Romeo Romaeo.
