Halesowen super middleweight sensation, Lennox Clarke, has been added to Black Country Boxing’s ‘Cool Hand & The Gang’.
The undefeated boxer takes on Swindon’s Kelvin Young over six rounds on the Walsall Town Hall show, sponsored by Grosvenor Casino Walsall, on Saturday, 19th March 2016.
Clarke has been added to the card seven days after a career-best win over Richard Horton. The Essex fighter was expected to give Clarke his toughest test to date but ‘Dangerous’ blew him away inside a round with a devastating display of power to take his record to 10-0 (4KO’s).
“I’m feeling good at the minute,” Clarke told www.uko-boxing.com. “I had a great camp for Horton and I was really pleased to get him out of there so quickly.
“I wasn‘t expecting such an early finish; I wanted to take it round by round and feel my way in. Horton is a tough man who has gone the distance with some good fighters, so I’ve made a bit of a statement.
“I said I wanted to busy this year, so I got straight back in the gym on Monday and asked to be out again next month.
“After a stop-start 2015, I just want to build on the momentum this time around.”
Walsall super lightweight, Luke ‘Cool Hand’ Paddock, takes on Derbyshire’s Lee Connelly in a six round contest at the top of the bill whilst fellow Walsall fighter, Martin Gethin, makes a welcome return to the Town Hall against Newark’s Fonz Alexander also over six threes.
Midlands Area Super Welterweight Champion, Jason Welborn, is in action as he looks to secure a third shot at a British Title.
The Bowater brothers – super featherweight Des and welterweight Sid – feature. Des, takes on Chris Adaway at super featherweight over six rounds whilst Sid steps in with Birmingham’s Dwayne Sheldon over four rounds.
West Bromwich middleweight, Tom Stokes, takes on Stoke’s Mark Till over four threes whilst Burton featherweight, Leon Gower, is also on the card.
Two debutants who have made the switch from kick boxing complete the bill. Wolverhampton’s former world featherweight champion, Kyle Williams, debuts at bantamweight whilst Newark’s International Sports Karate Association World and Intercontinental Champion, Chad Sugden, will be introduced to the pro ranks by Telford’s Kieron ‘Slammer’ Gray.
Tickets are priced at £30 (general admission) and £60 (VIP Ringside), and can be purchased by calling 0845 111 2900 or directly from any boxer on the bill.
The weigh-in and aftershow take place at Grosvenor Casino Walsall, Bentley Mill Way, Walsall WS2 0LE (just off junction 10 of the M6). GC Walsall will have a presence at the Town Hall on the evening and have linked up with local taxi firm, Yellow Taxi’s, to supply a number of free taxi’s to take guests from the Town Hall to the casino post-fight.
