23-year-old Swansea boxer Mano Lee (2-1) has had three professional fights, after a successful amateur career.
Mano made his debut on the 24th April, 2015, defeating Paul O’Brien over four rounds in Corby, Northamptonshire.
He followed that up with another four round points win, this time against experienced Kevin McCauley in Wolverhampton.
In his last fight, he dropped a points decision to the wily, tough journeyman William Warburton, at Liverpool in October, 2015. Since that defeat, welterweight Mano ‘Lightning’ Lee has joined Gary Lockett’s gym in Cardiff.
Ringnews24.com: How did you get into boxing?
It’s always been in my family. I started when I was nine years old, I went to Bon-y-maen boxing gym in Swansea, Enzo Maccarinelli’s father Mario’s gym.
Ringnews24.com: What was your amateur background?
Had about 64 amateur fights. Been to a few places and went to a World Championship.
Ringnews24.com: Pro career so far?
Three fights. I’ve done good. My last fight no excuses, one week before I was one stone six pounds over. I was very, very weak. At the end of the fight I was spewing up, people know how sick I was. Now I’m in a better camp, training better, Gary’s got me working hard which I’m not used to doing. Things are coming on good.
Ringnews24.com: Rematch with William Warburton?
I’ve got a rematch with him on the 19th March (Barnsely Metrodome, Yorkshire). He’s a tough boy but I’m feeling fit now and in much better shape.
Ringnews24.com: When did you link up with trainer Gary Lockett?
Been with Gary since the loss to Warburton. About four months now. Helluva difference, very, very good. Got the best of sparring with all the boys here, can’t ask for better sparring. Training is a lot different, he’s making me train very hard.
Ringnews24.com: Plans for 2016?
Wait for Gary, see what he thinks and go with what he says. Planning on big things and better things. Hoping for a Welsh title fight by the end of the year, that’d be nice. Then move onwards – bigger and better.
Ringnews24.com: How can people get tickets for your next fight?
