Hall Of Fame boxing announcer Al Bernstein, who will serve as color analyst on the broadcast of the monthly fight series “Knockout Night At The D,” says it is destined for success because of the two organizations serving as home for the series. The monthly shows begin Saturday, March 12, at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, televised on the CBS Sports Network.
“The physical home of this series is a great venue that brings with it the energy and vitality of the revitalized Downtown Las Vegas,” Bernstein said. “The television home for this series, CBS Sports Network, will be an excellent outlet for this and the regularity of an exciting monthly boxing series will make CBS Sports Network a destination for boxing fans. As a Las Vegas resident and a member of the CBS family through my Showtime Championship Boxing announcing role I feel a special kinship to this series.”
Five time world champion Zab Judah faces Jose Torres in a 10 round junior welterweight battle in the March 12 main event. In a 8 round co-feature Las Vegas fan favorite Chuy Gutierrez takes on Leon Spinks III.
Working with Al on the telecast will be iconic wrestling announcer JR Ross and former boxing champion Kevin Kelley. Al said, “I expect the boxing to be exciting and I think this broadcast team will add extra energy and fun to the proceedings. I am looking forward to working with JR and Kevin.”
