Greenrigg’s Kieran Smith will feature on our November 24th event which will honour the life on Mike Towell, live on STV.
The once decorated amateur who competed at the Commonwealth games in Glasgow a couple of years back had been a hidden gem of Scottish boxing until the West Lothian man exploded onto the British and world scene live on Sky Sports by delivering an 18 second knockout to the previously undefeated Robert Asagba on the undercard of Ricky Burns vs Kiryl Relikh.
“It felt good to put on the performance I did on Sky Sports as it got a lot of people talking.
“Then again frustrated because I had so much more to give as I have been learning so much in the gym and thought it was a great platform to showcase those skills, however, I never really got to show them off.”
“Overall I was really happy the way everything happened took fight 2 weeks notice against an undefeated dangerous opponent on a weeks notice and then I won in the way I did.”
The rising Super Welterweight star will now look to continue his scintillating form on the St Andrew’s Sporting Club’s November 24th event which sees Scott Allan top the bill in title action. ‘Chopper’ Smith gave his take on featuring on a show that will broadcast live by STV.
“I’m really excited to be getting back on TV for as the coverage gives all the people who can not afford tickets for all my fights but still want to support me, and great for a recognition point of view lets more people see me.”
“I’m really grateful to my manager and everyone at the St Andrew’s Sporting Club for putting me on the show. I want titles in the next 12 months and I know I have to be at my best on November 24 in order to accomplish that goal.”
Tickets for the November 24 show are available direct from all boxers on the bill or by calling 01418105700 or emailing info@standrewssportingclub.com
