Manchester’s Joe Murray contests an eliminator for the Commonwealth Lightweight title on Premier Boxing Entertainment’s St Patricks Day show at the B.E.C Arena on March 17. The former World Amateur Bronze medalist, who is coming off a knockout of the year performance in Denmark is in no mood to wait around in 2017 as the ‘Genius’ goes in search of major titles.

Murray gave his preview of what fans can expect from his March 17 showdown.

“I don’t care who I’m fighting. There’s only going to be one winner on the night and that’s Joe Murray by knockout.

“I want big fights on big shows and this show is going to be broadcast all over the world so I know I’ve got to put on a show, which I will.”

Manchester’s Murray is now a fully pledged Lightweight and is training under former Manchester Lightweight great, and brother, John. Joe opened up about what life is like under the guidance of John.

“The gym is buzzing at the moment. Training with John is great and the results are showing. I had a great performance last time out in Denmark and I can guarantee the same level of performance on the March 17 PBE show at the B.E.C Arena.

“John has a wealth of experience, that many trainers can’t compare too. I trust John in the corner and in the gym and having that relationship can only take me on to winning titles.”

Joe, who is firmly focused on the March 17 Premier Boxing Entertainment show that he tops the bill on, has his sight set on every Lightweight in the division at the moment. The former IBF World Youth Champion opened up on who he wants next.

“I’ll honestly fight anyone. I don’t care who it is, the outcome will still be the same. A Joe Murray knockout victory.”
