Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Weigh-in Results: McGregor (153 pounds) vs. Mayweather (149.5 pounds)

It was a very crowded seen the inside of the T-Mobile arena on Friday afternoon as thousands upon thousands of eager fans packed into the arena to see the official weigh-in between five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather and UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

With an Irish flag wrapped around his waist McGregor began to enter first upon announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr.’s calling of his name. With what appeared to be an Irish anthem playing as he walked in, the crowd erupted as McGregor did a slow walk towards the podium.

The song later changed to Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize” as the crowd get more boisterous.

Dressed in all white, Mayweather came out next with Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight” playing in the background. This appearance marks the 50th fight of Mayweather’s illustrious career and you could tell that he is cherishing every moment.

McGregor was the bigger man when he hit the scale weighing in at 153 pounds and flexing his muscles confidently. Mayweather weighed in at 149.5 pounds and again appears to be in awesome shape as is always the case with his career.

The two-man had somewhat of a calm stare down with McGregor being the floor more animated of the two. Mayweather simply seems at peace and that he’s with himself as he tries to stay focused ahead of this pivotal fight.

As the end of the face off approached, it was McGregor who continued to taunt Mayweather, hoping to get some kind of reaction from the 40-year old former pound-for-pound king, who is facing McGregor following a two-year layoff.

There were rumors prior to the match that McGregor was having difficulty making the junior middleweight limit, yet he appears to be in very excellent shape and full of confidence. It was McGregor who began to take aim at Mayweather’s physique following the weigh-in.

Speaking to SHOWTIME’s Jim Grey, McGregor noted.

“I’m a professional. I make weight. It’s a sacrifice. It’s dedication and focus. But I make weight and that’s it. Look at me. I’m in peak physical condition,” said McGregor.

The brash Irishman then turned his attention to Mayweather.

“It’s the worst shape I’ve seen him. He looks blow out. Out of shape. I’m going to breeze through him. Trust me on that,” McGregor said of Mayweather.

What was very noticeable at the weigh-in, was just how many rabid supporters are in town to support McGregor. Las Vegas has always been a place where big fights take place and it’s not uncommon to see the atmosphere change upon the arrival of tourists for fight weeks.

“There’s a saying,” McGregor said. “You’ll never beat the Irish and that’s it. We roll in and we take over wherever we want. Las Vegas is Ireland now.”

For a fighter who is such a big underdog, and for him to be competing in his first official boxing match, McGregor seems overloaded with ambition and belief.

“I’ll stomp my foot right in the center of that ring. I won’t go nowhere, other than the center of the ring. So let’s go. Let’s see who can take it. He’s over there twiddling his thumbs, twitching away. I see a man afraid. That’s it. We’ll see tomorrow.”
