Exclusive: Jack Catterall admits he doesn’t pay Ohara Davies too much attention; he’s not got anything that I’m after

Ohara Davies

Seven months have passed since we last saw Ohara Davies in the ring when he defeated Tom Farrell by TKO in round 6.

With both fighters, Catterall and Davies fighting on the undercard of Lee Selby vs Josh Warrington it could make an interesting night.

Davies split from Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn to start a new relationship with MTK Global and promoter, Frank Warren, thus joining Catterall at the MTK stable.

Catterall welcomed Davies to the MTK stable by posting: “Would love to smack the dog sh*t out of you,” Catterall revealed the reason behind his comment.

He told Ringnews24.com:

“It was a joke and maybe I shouldn’t have swore. It’s boxing and it’s a business with Ohara coming over to the stable, the promotion and the management team.

“With myself and being a fighter in the same weight division, it was interesting because I know that fight is now a potential fight down the line.

“It was just a joke and a welcome; I don’t pay Ohara too much attention. I know he’s on the card on Saturday and I know it’s a potential future fight, but right now I’ve got a job to focus on Saturday night before I look any further.”

Catterall wants big fight nights and titles wrapped around his waist. The Ohara fight is a fight that could potentially happen in the future but not one Catterall is interested in currently.

“I just want to be involved in great fights, fights that will be remembered in the future and fights that will progress me onto bigger and better titles.

“Right now, Ohara hasn’t got anything that I’m after but in the future, maybe. I can’t look past Saturday night. “
