Carl Frampton is set to fight Josh Warrington at the Manchester Arena, Manchester on December 22nd – Warrington will defend his International Boxing Federation World Featherweight title that he won from Lee Selby earlier this year.

Many boxing fans bought flight tickets before the fight was officially announced but were left disappointed as their tickets were cancelled and put back on sale at double the price.

Frampton took to Twitter to announce and share his disappointment:

“I’ve been informed that people who booked to come to my fight before it was officially announced have had their flights cancelled, refunded the money and then the flights have been put back on sale at more than double the price. @Ryanair you are disgraceful and should be ashamed.”

Ryanair responded to Frampton’s Tweet:

“You’ve been misinformed Carl. No flights were ‘doubled’ in price. In fact, you can fly from Belfast to Manchester on 21 Dec for just £9.99 or on 22 Dec for just £28.55.”

Fight fans agreed with Frampton and shared their thoughts on what happened.

@patrickmurpjy91, added: “Yea 9.99 on the way out, love the way you didn’t mention the price on the way back…… shameful”

Another fan, @neiljones174 responded: “Come on Ryan air earn your money don’t rob it from sports fans. You do the same with football fans hiking prices.”

“Not to be trusted. That’s why I’m happy to pay more for a flight with company that you can rely on. I really don’t get why people keep booking with them,” added @jwm1962.
