Middleweight Ermal Dida has spoken of his disappointment after having to pull-out of his last fight date due to injury.
The 25-year-old was due to fight earlier this month on the Hellraiser Boxing show, ‘Judgement Day’ but was forced to withdaw just weeks before the event.
The former England trialist has made an immaculate start to his professional career being sucessful in his two contests to date after making his debut earlier this year.
However the Bedford-born Dida succumbed to injury and bad health meaning that his anticipated appearance had to be scrapped.
And he admits despite it being a difficult decision, it will ultimately benefit him long-term.
“It was a tough one for me to be honest,” he said.
“Firstly, I had a really bad cold and then that led to me not getting any of the sparring in that I would have wanted.
“Then two weeks before the fight I had a really bad tooth infection which led to one side of my face being completely swollen so I couldn’t eat properly.
“It was frustrating for me because you ask any fighter who has been through the stress of camp and preparing for a fight the last thing you want is for it to be called off.
“I spoke to my manager and we had a big chat about it all, he was right and told me the most important thing is my health.
“But we are still confident that we can have another date pencilled in by the end of the year.
“I would like to thank all my fans who follow me, had bought tickets and I look forward to getting back in the ring and do what I do best very soon for everyone.”
