Tyson Fury insists Deontay Wilder fight is a battle of good versus evil

Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury has questioned WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder’s sex life ahead of their clash at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on December 1.

The 30-year-old Fury from Manchester in England – a married father of four with another child on the way – insists he has been living a Spartan lifestyle at his training camp in the United States while his opponent has been enjoying all the pleasures of earthly delights.

“While I’ve been over here for eight weeks starving myself, training hard in camp, and away from family with no sex, Deontay’s been enjoying the comforts of home,” reasoned Fury to talkSport.

“While I’ve been living in a hole, he’s been making love to his lady, eating nice dinners, his kids jumping all over him.

“You can’t be playing daddy in front of the fire and still be training to be heavyweight champion of the world. It doesn’t work like that.”

Saturday’s fight will pit two undefeated heavyweight titleholders against each other. Fury, the lineal heavyweight champion, dethroned long-reigning unified champion Wladimir Klitschko on points in Germany in 2015 before walking away from the sport to deal with drug and mental health issues.

Wilder, known as the ‘Bronze Bomber’, has declared on a number of occasions that he wants a “body” on his record and says that he changes into a different persona closer to fight time.

That doesn’t sit well with Fury, who has spoken openly of his religious conviction in the past.

“In this fight, I’m the one bringing the light,” insisted Fury. “Deontay is talking about his alter-egos, but I hope he brings all his demons to the ring and I will punish them.

“Evil cannot defeat the light. I have God on my side. Another reason I’m unbeatable.”
