Tyler Denny and Kirstie Bavington are putting in the hard hours in Spain ahead of ring return

BCB Midlands Boxing Super Series

Midlands Area Middleweight Champion, Tyler Denny, and female prospect, Kirstie Bavington, have enjoyed a week-long Warm Weather Camp ahead of their ring return next month.

‘Ruthless’ flew out to Tenerife last weekend alongside a number of boxers, including fellow BCB Promotions fighter Bavington, for an intense training camp in the sun.

Both Denny and Bavington are due in the ring on Saturday, 9th March at Walsall Town Hall on BCB Promotions’ ‘Pride of the Midlands’ show. They trained at Boxeo Povedano with daily runs on Mount Teide, the Island’s iconic landmark.

“It’s been a great week,” Denny said. “We were based is Costa Adeje, which is about 10 minutes from the boxing gym.

“Manuel is a great coach out here and trains the Walsh brothers, Jamie Moore’s stable of boxers and many, many more. Adam Harper and Lennox Clarke have been out here before too, so it is a real home from home; just with better weather!

“We would drive to mount Teide most days and do altitude runs which we will hopefully see the benefit of come fight night. Some days we trained three times a day, sometimes twice; but we made sure we used the boxing gym every day, so it’s been an intense but enjoyable week.”

“It’s been really good,” added Bavington. “We’ve all pushed each other on and I’ve learnt about myself this week. We’ve been able to immerse ourselves in boxing and focus on nothing but the sport. It‘s been brilliant”

Tickets to see the pair are priced at £35 standard or £65 VIP ringside with a buffet and waitress service and are on sale now from the Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900. It’s £40 for entry on the door.

The bill is topped by undefeated duo Connor Parker and Cori Gibbs going toe-to-toe for Parker’s Midlands Area Super Lightweight Title. The bout is also a British Title Eliminator.

The undercard sees former British middleweight champion Tommy Langford, talented welterweight Tommy Ghent, Conah Walker, a protege of the legendary Ricky Hatton,
Burntwood’s Troi Coleman and Brierley Hill lightweight prospect Connor Lee Jones, also in action.
