The Home corner went home happy on Saturday evening as BCBPromotions staged their latest show at Walsall Town Hall writes Henri Bujard.

Amy Timlin emerged victorious on her professional bow at the ‘Showtime’ boxing event, while fellow debutant Ruben Campbell and BCB favourites Kane Baker, Kelcie Ball,
Ricky Summers and Liam Davies also came out on top.

The opening fight of the night saw Birmingham’s Kane Baker take on Andy Harris, a fight Kane would dominated from start to finish to record a 40-36 win on referee for the evening Kevin Parker’s scorecard.

The Super Lightweight prospect didn’t disappoint, earning a 40-38 points win after a good first fight against a tough and determined MJ Hall.

One debut followed another as Featherweight prospect and ex-kickboxer Amy Timlin stepped up next against Bulgaria’s Roz Mari Sylanova.

As with any fighter making their professional debut, a mix of excitement and nerves was to be expected going in to the fight, however these usual pre conceptions were soon put to bed as the first bell rang for the start of the fight.
Straight from the off, a concentrated and determined Amy, from Southam, showed no signs of nervousness and stalked her opponent round the ring, carefully picking her shots.

As a result of a clever game plan against a tricky fighter, Amy was awarded a 40-35 points victory over her frustrating opponent and now looks ahead to fighting a second pro fight in the coming months.

Following on from two successful debut bouts, the home crowd were treated to arguably the best fight of the evening when Conah Walker and Nathan Bendon squared off.

After six rounds of tireless action, Wolverhampton’s Walker was justly awarded the win by the judges who scored the fight 58-56.

Ricky Summers, Liam Davies and Kelcie Ball all followed suite and made sure to complete a full house of home victories.

Tipton’s Summers dispatched of the ever dangerous Harry Matthews 60-54 whilst Ball got up from a flash knockdown to dominate Louis Van Poetsch to record a 58-55 win. Davies recorded a first career KO as he stopped Nicaragua’s Pablo Narvaez inside two rounds.
