Jack Brubaker 16-2-2 (8) has promised to take Tim Tszyu 14-0 (10) into deep water and drown him.
The 28-year-old from Cronulla made the comments ahead of his 10-round junior middleweight clash with the son of Kostya Tszyu at the ICC Exhibition Centre in Sydney, Australia on December 6.
“I don’t think he’s had much of a challenge,” Brubaker told Sporting News.
“I don’t think anyone’s hopped in the ring and fought Tim. I think all his opponents have fought his last name.
“I’m going in there to fight Tim. Tim’s just a person. I’m going to rock up, go in aggressive and make it a fight.
“I’ve been in these wars and I know I can swim. I’m tested – I love that fighting stuff. I’m gonna take him to deep waters and watch him drown.
“He hasn’t been in deep waters and tough fights.
“I back my ability and I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s got.”
The fight will be Brubaker’s first at 154-pounds, but he remains confident the extra weight won’t slow him down.
“It’s well-known I’m the most entertaining fighter in Australian boxing,” he continued.
“I come to fight, I’m always in an entertaining fight and this one’s going to be no different.
“Welterweight and little middle are both great weights for me, and this fight with Tim is a great opportunity to test where I’m at.
“I feel big and strong, I’ve got my nutrition right as well.”
Now trained by former three-division world champion Jeff Fenech, Brubaker says the bright lights and big stage will only bring out the best in him.
“I’m a big time performer – the bigger the show, the bigger the performance,” he said.
“My best performances have been on the biggest stage. The Danny Green undercard a few years back, that was up there with one of my best performances.
“This is a fight I deserve and a fight I’m gonna win. I believe I can go all the way. When I’m 100% I can beat anyone.
“I can beat Timmy Tszyu and I believe I can stop him.”
