The New Normal for Boxing Face Off’s

Joe Joyce

Last Tuesday we saw Joe Joyce and Michael Wallisch face off in what is now the new normal. The pair faced off through a screen ahead of tonight’s heavyweight shown down and they took it in turns to show off their mime impressions.

The fight will take place behind closed doors at the BT Sport Studio in Stratford, action will start at 7.15pm tonight on BT Sports and the fights are being shown on ESPN.

Joe who’s 34 knows he must avoid defeat if he wants to fight domestic rival Daniel Dubois for the British, Commonwealth and European Titles in a couple of months time.

Even though there’s great pressure on him at the moment to deliver he was in a jovial mood at the press conference.

Joe goes into tonight’s fight having won all ten of his professional fights and he performed his best mime routine in front of the screen with Wallisch mimicking everything he did.

Wallisch goes into the dust-up having lost three out of his last four fights – with all of his defeats coming by way of KO.

The 34-year-old is a huge underdog, with many not expecting him to live with Joyce’s power.

But he was all smiles for the camera, as he was seen relishing the chance to propel himself into European title contention.

Let’s hope he turns up tonight with his fight face on to get that victory that leads him to that big fight with DDD.
