Everlast announce which British fighter they will sponsor next

Everlast, the brand of choice for generations of world champion athletes, today proudly welcomes unbeaten super-lightweight Jack Catterall as its latest brand partner.

Catterall is universally recognised as one of the best 140lb fighters on the planet, and is the current mandatory challenger to the WBO super-lightweight title.

The Chorley boxer looks set for an all-British showdown with undisputed champion Josh Taylor later this year, pitting together two Everlast athletes in an incredible battle.

Catterall has an undefeated professional record of 26-0, meaning that the man known as ‘El Gato’ currently holds the longest winning streak throughout British boxing.

During the 27-year-old’s stellar career he has earned victories against fighters such as Ohara Davies, Tyrone McKenna, Joe Hughes and Tyrone Nurse, winning the British, WBO Intercontinental, and WBO European titles in the process.

He is the latest to join Everlast’s existing stable of elite athletes, which includes Josh Taylor, Conor Benn, Lee McGregor, Chantelle Cameron, Liam Smith, Archie Sharp, Craig Richards, Natasha Jonas, Ramla Ali, Jordan Gill and Hopey Price. Together, the #TeamEverlast fighters seek to inspire the fight in us all.

In signing a long-term partnership with the premier fight sports and fitness brand, the athletes will use Everlast equipment and wear the new Greatness sportswear range. Battle-tested in one of the toughest athletic environments, Everlast products have been imagined by a hundred years in the gym, designed and engineered to empower your best self.

They exemplify Everlast’s values of authenticity and dedication, as we champion brave individuality, seeking out people and partners who express themselves boldly and creatively.

Commenting on the partnership, Catterall said: “It’s a privilege to be teaming up with Everlast. With my next fight being for a world title, it’s a huge lift to join forces with such a respected brand like them.

“I’ve had a great career so far and now it’s all about kicking on and achieving my dreams of becoming world champion, and I’m confident that with Everlast on board and now backing me that we can do just that.”

Chris Zoller, Everlast’s VP of Marketing and Product Development, added: “We are delighted to announce Jack Catterall as our latest Everlast brand partner. He is one of the best fighters not only in Britain but in the world, and we are confident he will represent Everlast in the perfect way.

“We now have the prospect of an undisputed title showdown between two supreme Everlast athletes in Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall, so we can’t wait to see how the next few more transpire.”

Catterall has been a professional since 2012, and won his first professional title in just his ninth fight, stopping Nathan Brough to secure the Central Area super-lightweight title.

It didn’t take him long to add more belts to his collection, as in his next two fights he won the WBO European and WBO Intercontinental title respectively, proving from early on in his career that he was a serious force to be reckoned with at 140lbs.

Catterall is known for his road-warrior status, never saying no to a fight despite the location and picking up some big wins in the hometowns of his opponents, having defeated Tyrone McKenna in Belfast, Tyrone Nurse in Leeds and Thomas Stalker in Liverpool.

He also claimed an impressive victory over Timo Schwarzkopf in Dubai back in 2019, and during his last outing back in November was able to defeat Abderrazak Houya, setting up his shot at world honours in his next bout.

Everlast and its users share an inner and outer strength. It is for those with a strong sense of self and commitment in whatever they do, in both athletic and non-athletic endeavours. Everlast supports the individual spirit that drives uniqueness and greatness within each of us.
