If you are a gamer then there’s a high chance that you have seen a few games on Twitch before. Twitch is a huge platform, to say the least, and it would seem that it has taken off in the last few years. What’s interesting is that it may also have a huge impact on the world of boxing. Find out more below.

Twitch and the Future of Boxing

So why is Twitch going to help the future of boxing? Twitch is one of the top streaming platforms out there when it comes to gaming, and what’s interesting is that it’s growing more and more by the year. The reason why people are being so drawn to boxing right now though is actually because of YouTube stars such as Jake or even Logan Paul. They are both changing up their careers and they are choosing to try their luck in the ring. This has helped to bring a lot of viewers to the world of boxing and it has also helped boxing fans to connect more with YouTube.

The Rise of Streaming

Streaming has grown more and more by the year. Gaming platforms such as GGPoker are now going as far as to host live poker games, meaning that almost anyone with a penchant for the game can partake in or watch matches online via smartphone, laptop, tablet or internet enabled TV. This has helped the streaming industry to breakthrough, and it has also helped to build a long-overdue market.

Other websites are now capitalising on the success which GGPoker and other platforms  including Twitch have experienced. Anyone with a live internet connection can now go online and watch people playing boxing games, sports and even eSports, so it’s safe to say that Twitch is going to be a fundamental part of boxing’s future. Of course, YouTube is going to play a very large part as well, given the fact that a lot of YouTube stars are now making the jump from their digital streaming platform to boxing.

The Power of Being Live

When people watch boxing matches, they enjoy the fact that it is shown live. Twitch has a very similar platform, in the fact that now a huge range of gamers can showcase their skills but on a live platform. Of course, the two are bound to interconnect with one another at some point in the future, especially given the fact that boxers such as Logan and Jake Paul are now launching a full career in the ring and using streaming as a way to publicise the event.

Why is Twitch so Big?

Of course, Twitch has grown so much over the years and a lot of this comes down to the fact that the platform can diversify. Now you won’t just see gamers streaming live, you’ll see musicians and people doing live performances with their instruments. This is incredible as it opens up way more avenues for the Twitch platform. It also makes it much easier for people to be able to get the streaming experience they want, without having to continually change or load up streams on new platforms. It would not be a surprise to see Twitch stars enter the boxing ring as well, and if this did happen, the whole fight would almost certainly be streamed on the Twitch platform. The rise of streaming has certainly paved the way for the future of boxing and it’s remarkable to see that everything has come together so nicely for the streaming, gaming and sporting industry. More and more fans are being gained by the day and this is going to help to solidify the future of many, as well as helping people to gain access to a higher form of entertainment.
