Daniel ‘Dynamite’ Dubois 18-1 (17) has revealed the target for his next fight.

The 24-year-old British puncher, who has won three fights on the trot after his lone career loss to Joe ‘Juggernaut’ Joyce 14-0 (13), has his sights set on former world title challenger Dillian ‘The Body Snatcher’ Whyte 28-3 (19).

“I’m very excited about it. I really want to fight him [Whyte]. If that is the next one then I’m all up for it. It’s the next step in my career and the next step to big names and big fights,” Dubois said to The UniBet Lowdown.

Dubois dominated Trevor Bryan 22-1 (15) before knocking him out in the fourth to claim the secondary WBA ‘regular’ heavyweight title in Miami, Florida in June. It came after first and second round knockouts of Joe Cusumano and Bogdan Dinu respectively last year.

Getting back to his winning ways was crucial for Dubois, who suffered widespread criticism following his 10th round knockout loss to Joyce in November 2020. In that bout Dubois started well but Joyce came on late, fracturing Dubois’ left eye socket. Dubois took a left jab to his damaged face in the 10th and took a knee. He allowed himself to be counted out.

Dubois was leading on two of the judges’ scorecards at the time of the stoppage.

“This is the fight that can take me to the next level, with Dillian Whyte or any of those names,” continued Dubois. “I need to fight him and I need to beat him. These guys saying I am a quitter. I want to get in the ring and show them how much of a quitter I am.

“I want to make them quit. If they can make the fight happen, then make the fight happen. It’s what I want now just to shut them all up and all the guys that have something to say I’ll deal with them. It’s now or never. This is the prime of my life.”
