Keep a Look Out for Jared Anderson

Jared Anderson

Top Rank have just announced him as the rising fighter of the year but who is big boy Jared Anderson?

Born on the 16th November 1999, Jared Dovan Anderson is an American professional boxer. He held the NABF Junior heavyweight title in2021 and as an amateur he won the 2017 and 2018 U.S National Championships.

Deontay Wilder is known for his knockout power and at 22 I think Jared Anderson can become the next version of Wilder, thanks in part to his 100% knockout-to-win ratio. A two-time U.S National Champion, “Big Baby” has steamrolled his way past the competition on his way to become ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man’.

In 2021 Jared won 4 fights and the only time he was tested was against Kingsley Ibeh where he went six rounds and still beat him with a TKO. Apart from that, he hasn’t been in a fight where he made it past the fourth round.

He’s a respected fighter, WBC heavyweight champ Tyson Fury spars with him and down the line Jared may well be the one holding the world green and gold title around his waist.

Jared signed a multi-year promotional contract with Bob Arum’s Top Rank on the 24th September 2019 and he made his professional debut a month later on the 26th October scoring a first-round knockout victory over Daniel Infante at the Reno Sparks Convention Centre in Reno, Nevada.

In his third professional fight Jared faced Andrew Satterfield which he won by a first-round technical knockout and on the 9th June 2020, Jared beat Johnnie Langston by a third-round technical knockout. This was the first time that Jared had fought past the first round and he scored another first round stoppage on the 16th July 2020 when he beat Hector Perez. Jared passed the first round for the second time in his career on the 5th September 2020 against Rodney Hernandez, whom he beat by a fourth-round technical knockout. He closed out 2020 with a first-round technical knockout of Luis Peña on the 31st October 2020. He was scheduled to face Kingsley Ibeh on the 13th February 2021 and won his first fight of 2021 with a six-round knockout. He then faced Jeremiah Karpency on the 10th April 2021 and once again won by knockout stopping Karpency early in the second round.

Progressing to 10-0 when he beat the previously undefeated Vladimir Tereshkin (22-0-1) on the 9th October 2021 on the undercard of Tyson Fury v Deontay Wilder II with a second-round technical knockout.

Jared was scheduled to face Oleksandr Teslenko on the 11th December 2021 on the undercard of Vasiliy Vasiliy Lomachenko and Richard Richard Commey’s lightweight bout and he won with a second round technical knockout.

Jared returned to the ring on the 27th August 2022 on the undercard of Jose Pedraza vs Richard Commey to face Miljan Rovcanin which he won by knockout in the second round.

Last up was opponent and veteran Jerry Forrest on the 10th December 2022 at Madison Square Garden, New York and again it was a victory with another second-round knockout.

The future is looking extremely bright for this guy and I can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store for him and the heavyweight division.
