Super middleweight contender Demetrius ‘Boo Boo’ Andrade 32-0 (19) does not expect any surprises when he faces undefeated former two-time WBC 168-pound champion David ‘El Monstruo’ Benavídez 27-0 (23) at the Michelob Ultra Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 25.

Southpaw Andrade from Providence, Rhode Island will be having his second bout at super middleweight after moving up a division in January to defeat Demond Nicholson on points over 10 rounds.

The 35-year-old Andrade, who is a former WBO junior middleweight and middleweight champion, has failed to land big fights in the past and now needs to get a move on with his career if he wants to fulfil his potential.

A win over Benavidez will put him in the conversation for a shot at Mexican superstar and undisputed super middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez 60-2-2 (39).

“I have a lot of strengths. With my athletic ability and my preparation, I can beat anyone,” Andrade said.

“This has really been a great camp. We’ve gotten through the ups and downs and we’ve done everything we need to do to get the victory in this matchup.

“I’ve fought every style there is today. I just have to go in there, find his weakness and figure out what’s going to work. I’m gonna step forward with my best foot and I expect David to do the same, even though his feet are not as great as mine. We’ll be having fun in there.

“I’ve waited my whole career for this. With what we both have inside of us, it’s gonna make it a great fight. I don’t really know his strengths until I get in there, but from watching him, he likes to overwhelm his opponents. That’s really all I see. November 25 tune in and I’m gonna expose his weaknesses.

“This is the best fighting the best. It’s a great moment. The timing couldn’t be any better. It’s the fight that makes all the sense in the world right now.”

Victory won’t come easy for Andrade though. Benavídez’s father and trainer Jose Benavídez Sr has predicted a stoppage victory for his hard-hitting son.

“David is gonna stop Andrade around the eighth or ninth round,” he said this week.

“I do expect to stop Andrade,” David Benavídez said. “I’ve been working extremely hard. My last fight went the distance and I was upset about that. We’re gonna correct the current and stop Demetrius Andrade.

“There are a lot of things Andrade does well, but I see weaknesses as well. We’re gonna put a great game plan together and expose him on November 25.”

In an interview with FightHubTV, Benavídez Sr spoke of the respect they have for Andrade and his team.

“For us, it’s an honour and a pleasure to fight this guy, Boo Boo, and he’s a very dangerous fighter,” he said. “That’s what we want to do. We want to test our skills and show the people that David is the best at 168.”
