Super middleweight Vladine Biosse (15-6-2, 7 KOs), known in his hometown as “Mr. Providence,” returns to Rhode Island for the first time in more than a year on Friday, July 17th, 2015 when he faces the hard-hitting Chris Chatman (12-5-1, 5 KOs) of Jersey City, N.J., in the 10-round main event of “Rhode To Redemption” at Twin River Casino.

Abraham vows definitive win over arch-rival Stieglitz on July 18

With only 17 days to go before Arthur Abraham (42-4, 28 KOs) locks horns with Robert Stieglitz (47-4-1, 27 KOs) in their fourth WBO World Super Middleweight title contest, the champion and his coach Ulli Wegner, yesterday, opened the doors to their training camp at the Olympic Centre in Kienbaum, Germany.

Talking to the media in attendance, Wegner revealed his pleasure at ‘King’ Arthur’s preparations. ‘’Our training has gone better than expected,’’ said the 73 year-old coach. ‘’Arthur has even been sending cruiserweights to the canvas in sparring. Stieglitz has no hope. He knows only one tactic, and that’s just to come forward. Arthur is superior to him in every respect. That’s why I expect a clear victory on July 18. Anything else would be a disaster.’’

Glasgow’s former Commonwealth Champion Craig Docherty is set to challenge Dundalk, Ireland’s Michael Kelly for the World Boxing Union (WBU) Super Welterweight World title, on the Thomas Melville’s Coloseum Promotions THE COMEBACK event at the Lagoon Leisure Centre in Paisley on Saturday 15th August.

For Docherty it could be deemed a case of back to the future, as back in 2007 he unsuccessfully challenged Lee McAllister for the Lightweight version of the WBU title.
