Callum Smith: I’d beat George Groves

Callum Smith says he would bet George Groves if the pair met for a World title – but insists his sole focus is on putting on a career-best display against Christopher Rebrasse when they meet for the vacant WBC Silver World Super Middleweight title at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Friday June 26, live on Sky Sports.

Smith faces the toughest test of his promising pro career against the Frenchman, who travelled to the UK in September to face Groves to defend his European belt with the same Silver title on the line, and gave the Londoner a tough examination at Wembley Arena in his first fight since being KO’d be Carl Froch in the stadium next door.

Callum Smith will unleash months of frustration at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham on Saturday night live on Sky Sports – and says another win will prove he’s ready for a massive fight this summer.

Smith has been out for nearly six months with a hand injury following his comprehensive win over former World title challenger Nikola Sjekloca in November in Liverpool in a third defence of his WBC International Super Middleweight title.

Markham gets English title shot

Lee “The Banjo” Markham finally gets his big title chance and a potential breakthrough into the big time when he challenges Jahmaine Smyle for the English Super-Middleweight title on the Olivia Goodwin promoted “Ultimate Glory” bill at York Hall on Saturday 14th March.

The show marks the Goodwin’s fifth anniversary into boxing promoting and managing. The event is befitting of this celebration with no less than 6 title fights and some of London’s top prospects on the undercard.
