Brian Rose: It’s win or bust against Jones

Brian Rose says his clash with Carson Jones on February 14 at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool live on Sky Sports is a must-win contest if he wants to fulfil his World champion ambitions.

Rose meets the American for the vacant WBC International Light Middleweight title but the Blackpool ace says there is more on the line than just the belt as he aims to get back into range of another World title shot.

Rose vs Jones heads Prizefighter in Blackpool

Brian Rose’s WBC International Light Middleweight title fight against Carson Jones will top a Prizefighter Middleweights bill at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool on Saturday, February 14, live on Sky Sports.

Rose’s clash with Jones was originally scheduled for January 23 in Manchester but following the postponement of that bill the Blackpool boxer will now have the chance to fight in front of a hometown crowd as he continues his charge for a second World title shot.

American Jones is familiar on these shores after he gave Kell Brook the fight of his life in July 2012 and returned for a rematch 12 months later.

Sparks fly at Brook vs Jones weigh-in

Bitter rivals Kell Brook and Carson Jones, and Tommy Coyle and Derry Mathews raised the temperature at the weigh-in for their clashes tomorrow night live on Sky Sports 1HD at the MS3 Craven Park, in Betfair’s ‘The Homecoming’.

Kell Brook v Carson Jones: Back on the edge of glory

When he emerged with a majority decision victory from last July’s tougher than expected test in Carson Jones, Kell Brook was on the brink of the big time, one fight away from a world title shot. The fight had been billed as ‘Edge of Glory’ and having come through that gut check with his unbeaten record intact, the Sheffield stylist was glad to see the back of Jones and move on from that experience. Almost exactly a year later however and with glory yet to be attained, he’ll be stepping through the ropes to meet the man who gave him hell once again.
