Courtney Richards Ready To Rumble

Plymouth Cruiserweight, Courtney Richards, cannot wait to top the bill in his hometown on Sunday afternoon.

The 21 year-old takes on well-travelled Lithuanian, Igoris Borucha, at the Plymouth Guildhall at the top of ‘Best Of Devon 2’ boxing show.

After a busy few weeks, which have seen him face unbeaten prospect Paul Drago and WBC International Silver Champion, Stephen Simmonds, Richards is looking forward to fighting in front of his home crowd.

“I’m over the moon that boxing is back in Plymouth,” he told www.uko-boxing.com. “I’m looking forward to having the home support and I’m ready to put on a great show for the fans.

Boxers Visit Football Club

Plymouth boxing duo, Courtney Richards and Chris Adaway, visited Plymouth Argyle on Saturday ahead of their big fights this weekend.

The local pair were invited to Home Park to see the Green Army defeat Carlisle United 1-0 and, at half-time, got to tread on the sacred turf.

Richards and Adaway were joined by fellow Plymouth boxer, Angelo Crowe. The trio, who all fight out of Carl’s Boxing Stable in Plympton, enjoyed their afternoon as Richards showed off his British Bronze Masters Cruiserweight title and promoted Sunday’s ‘Best of Devon 2’ boxing show at the Plymouth Guildhall.

Plymouth Cruiserweight, Courtney Richards, warms up for his hometown appearance next month by taking on unbeaten Lithuanian, Paul Drago, this weekend.

Drago, real name Pavelas Nevedomskis, has won his opening five contests since turning professional in 2012 but Richards is ready to blemish his opponent’s copybook when they meet at cruiserweight at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium on Saturday night.

“It’s a great opportunity for me,” Richards told www.uko-boxing.com. “Drago is unbeaten and highly rated, so when I beat him it will good on my record. He’s down to cruiserweight now, so it’s a fight I’m looking forward to.
