Browne hopes for home advantage against Ruslan Chagaev

LUCAS ‘BIG DADDY’ BROWNE is planning on becoming a history maker and he wants to do it on home soil.
Australia has never had a world champion at heavyweight, but Browne will get the opportunity to change that when he meets WBA champion Ruslan Chagaev.
Browne was made the well-respected Uzbek’s mandatory challenger last month and negotiations are currently underway, with the Sydney-native crossing his fingers for a fight Down Under.
“It’s a really exciting stage of my career. I’m ready to become Australia’s first ever heavyweight champion,” Lucas, 35, said.

Lucas Browne targets Chagaev, Wilder in 2015

Lucas Browne has placed Deontay Wilder on his hit list, but first he’s keen to square off with WBA champion Ruslan Chagaev.
The hard-hitting Aussie is rated at number seven in the world by the WBC and is a legitimate contender for the title Wilder won by outpointing Bermane Stiverne in Las Vegas at the weekend.

Browne targets WBA strap after Ortiz’s failed drug test

LUCAS “BIG DADDY” BROWNE believes he should be given a shot at the WBA interim heavyweight title or even regular champion Ruslan Chagaev in the wake of the Luis Ortiz doping scandal.
Ortiz won the interim strap with a one round KO of Lateef Kayode in September, but the result has now been made a no contest and the belt is likely to be declared vacant after the Cuban tested positive for the banned substance Nandrolone.
The Nevada State Athletic Committee held a meeting on Monday and unanimously voted to ban Ortiz for eight months (backdated to September) and fine him $8,000.

Browne sends message to heavyweights “With my power. You’ll wake up the next day from sleeping and wonder what the f**k happened.”

The much-loved Aussie puncher was in the best shape of his career when he defeated tough American Chauncy Welliver earlier this month and he says the days of weighing in heavy are over now he’s training with the legendary Jeff Fenech.
Browne is also keen to shed his amiable image as he feels a vicious streak is needed in order to get to the top.

Lucas Browne faces the Hillyard Hammer on November 12

AUSSIE banger Lucas “Big Daddy” Browne plans on becoming the first man to knock teak tough Chanucy Welliver off his feet when they clash next month.
Unbeaten Browne defends his WBC EPBC crown against the New Zealand-based American on the undercard of the massive Mundine v Rabchenko bill at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne on November 12.
As Browne is ranked in the top ten by three of the four main sanctioning bodies, this fight presents a potential banana skin on his route to a world title shot in 2015.
