Bob Arum has closed the door to the “Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.”

Bob Arum has closed the door to the “Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.”  Thus boxing has found the Answer to the dream match between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. on the heels of Top Rank’s official announcement yesterday that Pacquiao is set to fight Timothy Bradley on April 12.

Bob Arum’s latest sly legitimizes the “excuse” that Floyd would never deal with him if a fight with Pacquiao will ever be made.  Arum panicked to rush the Bradley rematch when there is yet a chance for Mayweather to agree choosing Pacquiao for his next bout this year.  Therefore, everybody can conclude now without an iota of doubt that Arum is the one biggest and real obstacle to “Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.”

Judging correctly and scoring the fights

Many of us will have watched the first major television fight of the year last weekend, which resulted in rather disappointing performances from both Jean Pascal and Lucian Bute in their long awaited all Canadian light-heavyweight match.  It resulted in a unanimous decision victory, rightly so, for the younger man Pascal.  For once then it was not the judges at ringside who came in for criticism.  Unfortunately for Sky television pundit Jim Watt, who was one of a very small minority of people who had Bute winning the fight, it was he that came in for all the associated vitriol and humiliating comments on the internet in the hours following the broadcast.

Pacquiao dares Mayweather “Let’s fight for charity”

Things have been clear to the clear minded, but if the latest word from Manny Pacquiao won’t untangle “clutters” in the minds of the “wise” and “confused,” what else can?

Pacquiao has long assured he is ready and willing to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. anytime, anywhere.  And just hours ago he told the Manila based Philippine Daily Inquirer: “I’m not desperate to fight Floyd just for the sake of money… I’m not the one seeking this fight rather it’s the boxing fans all over the world.”
Absolutely.

Pacquiao said that he won’t possibly cut ties with promoter Bob Arum, which may forever scupper any chances of the once proposed match happening.

Boxing Wishlist For 2014 – Fights to make in 2014

Well 2014 is here and after taking some days off, I’m finally back on the  grind discussing all things boxing. 2013 was a very good year for “The Sweet Science” and here’s hoping for an even better year. I hope to continue to discuss boxing on my blog as well as talk more, more, and more boxing on my Pound 4 Pound Boxing show/podcast (which will return this month). With that being said, here are a couple of news nuggets as well as what I would like to go down in boxing for this year.
