Rances Barthelemy Defeats Antonio DeMarco, Sammy Vasquez Outpoints Wale Omotoso

Rances “Kid Blast” Barthelemy (23-0, 13 KOs) dominated and dropped Antonio DeMarco (31-5-1, 23 KOs) on his way to a wide unanimous 10-round decision on Premier Boxing Champions on CBS Sunday afternoon at the MGM Grand Garden Arena as promoter of the event and President of Mayweather Promotions Floyd “Money” Mayweather watched from the first row.

Rances Barthelemy Vacates IBF Super-Featherweight

Former IBF Super-Featherweight Champion Rances “Kid Blast” Barthelemy (21-0, 12 KOs), has vacated his title in pursuit of bigger fights at Lightweight.  Barthelemy’s first fight at 135 lbs. will take place tomorrow night at the Hialeah Park Race Track in Hialeah, Florida, against Angino Perez (18-4, 16 KOs).  Barthelemy vs. Perez, a 10-round bout, will air live on ESPN’s “Friday Night Fights”.

Standing 5’11, Rances Barthelemy has the height and reach to be successful while moving up in weight class.  Barthelemy, a Cuban national amateur champion, has developed into a terrific professional fighter, winning his first would title against Argenis Mendez (22-3-1, 12 KOs) back in July of 2014.  His sole title defense was a unanimous decision against Fernando David Saucedo (54-6-3, 8 KOs) last October.

Jose Pedraza – I’m ready to fight Rances Barthelemy and bring home the title

After his dominating performance against Philippine contender Michael Farenas (39-5-4, 31 KOs), Puerto Rican star and IBO super-featherweight champion, Jose “Sniper” Pedraza (19-0, 12 KOs), is elated that he’s become the mandatory challenger to face IBF champion Rances Barthelemy (21-0, 12 KOs).

“I’m very excited about my future and I’m very thankful to my promoters Gary Shaw, Lou DiBella and Javier Bustillo for getting me the fights I needed to become the mandatory challenger to fight for the IBF title.” said Pedraza. “I’ve been getting a lot of support from my people here in Puerto Rico and it feels great to be loved by them.  I’ve already started training as I’m eager to get back in the ring.  I’m ready to fight Rances Barthelemy and bring home the IBF title.”

Weights from Foxwoods: Rances Barthelemy vs David Saucedo

Undefeated Rances “Kid Blast” Barthelemy and Fernando David “El Vasco” Saucedo both tipped the scale at the limit of 130 pounds during the official weigh-in for their world title showdown, tomorrow/Saturday, LIVE on SHOWTIME at 9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast.

Barthelemy (20-0-0, 12 KOs), of Las Vegas by way of Cuba, will defend his IBF junior lightweight title against former world title challenger and IBF No. 3-ranked challenger Saucedo (52-5-3, 8, KOs), of Florencio Varela, Argentina, in the main event of a SHOWTIME Boxing Special Edition tripleheader from the Fox Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino, in Mashantucket, Conn.
