Antonio Counihan, Tasif Khan and Paul Economidies bag wins in Liverpool

Whilst all the local sporting headlines have been about Saturday’s big game at Anfield, between Liverpool and old rivals Manchester United, there was another local Merseyside sporting event that went somewhat under the radar due to the enormity of the fixture, which is a mighty shame as game couldn’t possibly produce even a fraction of the excitement and drama that the international pugilistic extravaganza presented by Stephen Vaughan Jr and his team did on Friday night.

With the planned headlining title fight falling through just days before the event, a good sized crowd still turned out to watch the drama unfold at the recently reopened Grand Central Hall in Liverpool.

Khan returns in style

On Friday night, at the York Hall in London, sensational Super Flyweight prospect Tasif Khan made his long awaited return to the ring, following a two year sabbatical from the sport, and boy oh boy did he do it in style.

For his first outing, since beating Elemir Rafael in December 2012, Khan faced Richard Voros, a highly experienced boxer and kick-boxer from Hungary, in a four round Super Bantamweight contest.

Khan Returns To The Fray On Jan 30th

On Friday 30th January 2015, Bradford’s Tasif Khan makes his most welcome return to the fray, following a two year sabbatical from the sport, when he faces Hungarian Richard Voros on the Shyam Batra promoted Legends & Prospects event at York Hall in London.

First time around Tasif, who turned professional in 2005, proved not only to be an exciting prospect but also highly popular with the fans, so much so that after just his sixth fight young Khan became a regular on events, at the Reebok Stadium in Bradford and at the M. E.N. Arena in Manchester, promoted by Ricky Hatton, including the Amir Khan versus Paul McCloskey WBA World Championship bout in April 2011.
