Promoter looks forward to Saturday Showcase at Paisley Lagoon Leisure Centre

With an actioned packed Six fight bill planned for Saturday evening, Saltire Promotions Colin Bellshaw is looking forward to a show which he thinks will top the last one. “We have worked hard on giving the fans a good night, and have stacked it full of established names and new ones. The last one delivered in a cracking main event between Craig Kelly and Billy Campbell, which was regarded as one of the best area title fights in Scotland for a long time.

He adds “This time we are headlined by Rhys Pagan v Mike Towell. Both laddies have there own style and are coming to win there first Scottish Area Title. I think this could be every bit as good as the Kelly/Campbell fight.

The undercard is headed by local fighter Kris Carslaw, who takes on Dan Blackwell. Expecting a tough night for Carslaw, his coach is not overlooking the task in hand “We have been working on a few things, and Blackwell will come to win, and make it a tough night for Carslaw.

Dundee’s Ronnie Clark is no stranger to a Paisley Crowd, having previously fought there in 2011. “Ronnie has had an injury which has kept him out for a while ,but he is in line for a British Title Eliminator later this year against Troy James” Explains Bellshaw. “This is his first fight this year, and he has told me he has time to make up. We have him in with Michael Mooney who is durable and will keep him on his toes!

Looking for his third successive win, Brian Peacock returns to the venue were he made his debut, and takes on Mark Till “Brian has settled into the professional ranks quite well. He trains hard and is always keen to progress, and really has gone through the camp with the desire to pick up his first ko in the paid rank’s. He boxes Mark Till who upset Alistaier McEwan on our last show. We have Two guys with lots of ambition and this will make for another great fight.

After headlining the last Saltire show in January, Craig Kelly returns to action with a Six round bout against Fahreem Khan. Bellshaw admits, it was easy to include him on the card “It was Only fitting to have Craig back on our show after the performance he gave in winning the Scottish welterweight title against Billy Campbell. He left it all in the ring in a great fight and I am sure he wont disappoint this time as he will look to build on that.

Completing the line up sees Aberdeen based Marek Laskowski, who takes on Glasgow based Shaun McShane . A late addition to the line up, Bellshaw thinks this could be the fight of the night “What we have here is two come forward fighters and they have the potential who steal the show I believe. I am grateful to them for stepping up and are a great addition to the card as Michael McGurk pulled out through illness.
