MyProtein release boxing bundle to help maximise recovery and performance

Overview

The Myprotein Combat Bundle includes a combination of six products to help you achieve your required training goals to enhance performance across all types of combat sports. Club 1957, D and D Management team up to promote Emanuel Taylor

Luke Blackledge out of July bout with injury

Newly-crowned Commonwealth super-middleweight champion, Luke Blackledge (19-2-2) was due to be back in action on July 25th at Liverpool Olympia but has been forced to pull out of the show due to injury.

The 24-year-old from Lancashire explained, “I wasn’t 100 per cent fit to fight anyway and I’ve been having Cryotherapy sessions and that’s been helping but I caught Impetigo in a sparring session and I’ve had to stop all training so there’s no way I’ll be fighting in July.”

The 168-pounder was due to enter into a six round contest on the VIP Promotions show featuring unbeaten local boxing heroes, John Quigley (13-0) and Andy Colquhoun (13-0).

Coldwell impressed by Bellew’s progress, performance against Bacurin

Liverpool’s Tony Bellew returned from a nine month absence last weekend to halt experienced Croatian, Ivica Bacurin, in the last session of a scheduled ten rounder. The Liverpool man dominated proceedings from the get go and after dropping his resilient opponent multiple times, he finally got the job done seconds before the final bell. Hopes within Camp Bellew are firmly attached to a third world title shot and trainer, Dave Coldwell is insistent that the time is right for his hungry charge.

Scott Quigg and Anthony Crolla top an epic night of boxing on Sky Sports on July 18 – with three brilliant World title battles set to thrill fight fans.

At the Manchester Arena, Quigg defends his WBA World Super Bantamweight title against former IBF king Kiko Martinez while Anthony Crolla fights for his first World title against classy Colombian WBA Lightweight king Darleys Perez.

Over in Germany, the fourth installment of a classic modern day rivalry takes centre stage as Arthur Abraham defends his WBO World Super Middleweight title against Robert Stieglitz, exclusively aired in the UK on Sky Sports.

Donaire-Settoul, Ramirez-Yoshida to air on UniMas in United States

Former Fighter of the Year and five-division world champion Nonito “Filipino Flash” Donaire and 2012 U.S. Olympian and undefeated super lightweight contender Jose Ramirez will headline “Victory at The Venetian,” on the Saturday, July 18 edition of Solo Boxeo Tecate, which will be televised from The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arena via same-day delay in the U.S. on UniMás, beginning at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. Donaire, of the Philippines, in the hunt for another world title shot, will be taking on France’s Anthony Settoul in a 10-round super bantamweight battle.  Ramírez, who hails from central California, will open the telecast in an eight-round super lightweight bout against Ryusei Yoshida, of Japan.
