Daz Wilson-Brown’s Alba Combat Equipment has launched out of the Granite City of Aberdeen and is aiming to be at the forefront of Scottish and British Boxing equipment for years to come. Wilson-Brown who is a coach and secretary at Aberdeen Boxing Club has been putting in tireless work in order to bring out a range of products that will become a genuine leader in today’s market.
“I’ve spent thousands on samples from all over the world to find the correct quality products. I’ve managed to find a manufacturer who is head and shoulders above the rest for quality and that can work with our own designs to the standard we require.”
Alba Combat Equipment is already growing on a brand and has linked up with many different clubs in Scotland and further reaches of the United Kingdom. Alba figure head Wilson-Brown discusses how ‘ACE’ has grown at a rapid pace already.
“Basically the word got out in Aberdeen about our products and that led us to expand into the highland and lowland area’s of Scotland; into places like Peterhead, Perth and Dundee not to mention Glasgow. As many successful ventures do, it went from being a hobby into launching Alba Combat Equipment. Our aim is too make quality affordable gloves for all boxers. Boxing is a working class sport and we aim to make our products prices that working class people can afford.”
The boxing market seems to be flooded with new products coming and going a lot at the moment, however Alba intend on remaining in the market for a long period of time it appears. The Aberdeen based company are aiming to challenge industry leaders such as Grant, Cleto Reyes and Winning amongst others and it is a task Wilson-Brown has taken with the utmost of seriousness and already has big plans in the short and long term.
“All our gloves have been tested on seasoned pros and we’ve got written testimonials. They believe along with myself that Alba’s quality is alongside the top brands such as Grant, Cleto Reyes etc at a fraction of the price. In the short term I am working hard to get Alba equipment available in stores.”
“Our fight gloves have been sent off for sanctioning from multiple governing bodies in Europe. Down the line i’d love to see ACE in a top contest that would be a real honour and recognition of the hard work that has gone in too building the brand.”

Alba Combat Equipment have already linked up with some notable faces on the domestic boxing scene and those in question appear to be delighted with the link up with ‘ACE’ and all have mixed in good company in the professional ranks.
“ACE have linked up with Scottish Champion Ronnie Clark, British Masters and MBC International Champion Jody Meikle, English Champion and British title challenger Kevin Hooper as well as Former Commonwealth and WBO European Champion Ross Burkinshaw who is also stocking our equipment.”
