Fres Oquendo stops Demetrice King

Puerto Rican Heavyweight Fres Oquendo (32-5, 21 KO) stopped durable Demetrice King (15-18, 13 KOs) when King didn’t come out for the 10th round on Saturday night at the Horseshoe Casino, Hammond, Indiana, United States in a clash for the USBA and NABA Heavyweight titles.

King was dropped in the second from a heavy right hand near the end of the round but recovered well. Oquendo was the busier and quicker fighter through out the bout and said afterwards; “I stopped a 25 year old lion, I took him into deep waters and got the win. My body feels great! My nutrition is everything and that’s why I looked good tonight against a younger guy!”. Fres Oquendo then stated that he’s looking for a title shot at either of the Klitschko brothers or David Haye.
