Browne v Bahoeli to be broadcast to Australia and across Asia

In what is a fantastic move for Australian fight fans, next weekend’s blockbuster Commonwealth title fight between Lucas Browne and Eric Bahoeli will be televised live on Eurosport.

The Foxtel based company will be showcasing the bout live from Sheffield at no additional charge to subscribers.

Lucas “Big Daddy” Browne 19-0 (17 KO) will look to make Bahoeli 10-3 (7 KO) his 20th victim and become the first Australian in 122 years to win one of the oldest titles in boxing.

Hatton Promotions spokesman Philippe Fondu said, “I’m delighted this important bout for the Commonwealth Heavyweight title is receiving the appropriate live TV coverage.

“It is being distributed throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland on BoxNation, L’Equipe TV in France, Kazakhstan TV and now on Eurosport throughout Asia and the Pacific regions.”

The bout will also be contested for the vacant WBC Eurasian Pacific Boxing Council title, giving the winner a big ratings boost within the WBC.

Browne, who is recognised as Australia’s premier Heavyweight on Boxrec.com, is currently rated #11 in the world by the WBC.

Lucas Browne’s manager, Matt Clark, stated: “Lucas has already arrived in Sheffield to finish off his preparation.

“Hatton Promotions brought Lucas over in UK early, to make sure he’s acclimatised and has no signs of jet lag. He’s had some great sparring and he’s ready to put on a show.”
