Australia’s former 3 division titleholder Danny ‘Green Machine’ Green has tipped brothers Andrew and Jason Moloney to follow in his footstep and achieve world honours.
Green achieved multiple world honours in his own right, winning versions d the world title in 3 different weight classes.
Green has since retired from competition, and recently checked in on both Andrew and Jason Moloney, whom both have big fights coming up, with Andrew Moloney squaring off against Miguel Gonzalez in Chile on March 22 in a fight that could well see him land a crack at the WBA World Super Flyweight title if he emerges victorious in Chile.
Brother Jason Moloney looks to rebuild after losing in controversial fashion in the World Boxing Super Series against IBF World King Emmanuel Rodriguez, as he returns on March 30 against Cris Paulino in a WBA Oceania Bantamweight title contest at the Seagulls Rugby Club, Tweets Head.
Green opened up on the pair, whose careers are guided by Australian Boxing Supremo Tony Tolj.
The Perth native said, “The Moloney brothers have got massive futures and they have already had real tests at their own respective stage of their careers.
“I firmly believe that the pair will become World Champions, I’ve been very impressed by them both, and I expect them to both be stars not just in Australian Sport, but boxing worldwide as a whole.”
Tony Tolj, who manages both Moloney brothers, previewed the pairs upcoming contests.
He said, ”Andrew has arrived in Chile and is ready to go ahead of his fight against Miguel Gonzalez. It’s a really good fight but I firmly believe that Andrew will have too much class for Gonzalez.
”Jason will look to put on a show against Cris Paulino on March 30 and work back towards a second crack at a world title. Jason is a top draw Bantamweight and I firmly believe that the pair will be challenging and winning world honours inside the next 12 months.”
