Ringside Report: Amir Mansour Derails Joey “The Tank” Dawejko

Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love is known for having a great boxing history, great fighters, and yes, their amazing cheese steaks.  There is also that good old Rocky statue that you must visit at least once in your lifetime.  After stopping by my favorite spot for a great cheese steak, I headed to the 2300 Arena for what promised to be a great night of Philly boxing.

Joey “The Tank” Dawejko planning to put Amir Mansour to sleep

Just a few short weeks ago at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Joey “The Tank” Dawejko of the Club 1957 Management team scored an emphatic knockout victory that has propelled him to a main event attraction against Amir Mansout at the same venue on May 8th that will be televised live on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights.

Dawejko needed just twenty-seven seconds to dispose of Enobong Umohette in a heavyweight bout that made the Philadelphia fans at the Arena go wild!

Amir “Hard Core” Mansour to collide with Joey “The Tank” Dawejko

Amir “Hard Core” Mansour, of Wilmington, DE, and Joey “The Tank” Dawejko, of Philadelphia, will collide in the most anticipated local showdown in years when they battle over 10 rounds—or less—for the vacant Pennsylvania State Heavyweight Title on Friday evening, May 8, at the 2300 Arena.

The Mansour-Dawejko contest, which will be televised live by ESPN 2, tops a seven-bout card that begins at 7 p.m.  The ESPN 2-televised portion of the program begins at 9 p.m.

Fight Report: Cunningham vs Mansou

Steve “USS” Cunningham (27-6, 12 KOs)* took down the undefeated powerhouse Amir “Hardcore” Mansour (20-1, 15 KOs) via unanimous decision at the Liacouras Center. In the all-Philly main event, Philadelphia-raised Cunningham and Philadelphia-trained Mansour brawled for ten rounds of heart-stopping action that had the entire crowd at the Liacouras Center on their feet and screaming for more.  These two warriors just kept coming at each other for ten straight rounds. By the end they were both bleeding and and battle-worn.

Mansour was relentless from the first bell.  He kept coming at Steve with huge looping hooks. Cunningham began bleeding in the second round. Then Cunningham cut Mansour over the same eye in the third.
