Prevost to Face Johnson in Heavyweight Bout on Sept. 24
An opponent has been announced for Blake “Candyman” Prevost (14-1-1, 5 KOs) in his 10-round light heavyweight main-event battle on Friday, September 24.
Fighting in the main event of the “BAD BOYS OF BOXING” Keeppunching Entertainment and Paragon Casino Resort professional boxing event at the Paragon Casino Resort, Prevost will face Cleveland, Ohio’s Romero Johnson (10-2-1, 6 KOs).
“Johnson is a skillful veteran who has gone with the distance and even beaten some solid professionals,” said event promoter Kerry Daigle. “We’re looking to begin moving Blake Prevost up the world ladder and a good opponent like this will show us where he is in his development.”
Also added to the show is power punching Lafayette, Louisiana, lightweight prospect Mason Menard (12-1, 10 KOs) in a six-round showcase for his hometown fans. Menard is matched up with Georgia’s John Willoughby.
Menard joins 6′ 8″ Houston, Texas, heavyweight Skip Scott (9-1, 5 KOs), Puerto Rican junior lightweight Ivan Otero (2-0, 1 KO) and middleweight Chad Trahan (pro debut) from Lafayette, Louisiana, on the action-packed undercard.
Additionally, two of the most decorated Cuban boxers from the Cuban National Team are also scheduled, as Cuba’s Yordanis Ugas (3-0, 2 KO’s) will fight a welterweight four rounder and undefeated Cuban cruiserweight Yunier Dorticos (7-0 7 KO’s) will go four, both against opponents to be named.
And because Hooters is the event’s primary sponsor, as a very special bonus, Louisiana’s most beautiful Hooters girls will present the ring cards between rounds.
