Hollywood fight night to host important silent auction all proceeds to benefit injured boxer Mike Carracela

The dangerous and pugilistic nature of professional boxing comes with the risk that a fighter may suffer injury, trauma, or even death. Professional boxers accept these risks while striving to achieve their dreams of becoming a World Champion.

Undefeated boxing prospect “Cool” Mike Carracela cruised through his first two professional bouts unharmed, winning both by unanimous decision, including his 2nd victory as part of the very first Hollywood Fight Night show at the Florentine Gardens on July 12, 2012. While becoming a decorated amateur and even a sparring partner for Floyd Mayweather, the slick southpaw from Burbank was also working as a demolition laborer to help pay his bills and support his pregnant fiancee.

Three months ago, while demolishing piers of the Gerald Desmond Bridge in Long Beach, Mike Carracela’s dreams of becoming a World Champion boxer were cut short when he was electrocuted by an over hanging 13,000 volt power line. Leaving him badly burned and with severe nerve damage to his left arm, Mike Carracela was hospitalized for two months and is unable to work. This tragedy occurred just before Mike’s fiancee gave birth to their first child, Luke.

On Thursday, November 14, 2013, HOLLYWOOD FIGHT NIGHT will host a silent auction of autographed boxing and other sports memorabilia with all proceeds going to Mike Carracela and his young family as Mike continues to fight the biggest battle of his life.
