Amir Khan to host fundraising event for Typhoon Haiyan Appeal

Who: Former boxing World Champion, Amir Khan will be hosting a fundraising dinner for Islamic Relief for the Philippines Typhoon Haiyan Appeal, which caused huge devastation earlier this month.  

When: Sunday 1st December – 6pm

Where: Hilton Hotel, Hall Ings, Bradford, BD1 5SH

Details: Over 500 tickets sold for the event which includes a three course dinner and entertainment. There will also be a charity auction for memorabilia from footballing greats including Ronaldo and Messi and of course, boxing memorabilia from Amir Khan himself.

Amir explained: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the support from the local community in Bradford already and we’re hoping to raise thousands for the Typhoon Haiyan Appeal this Sunday.

“The typhoon caused mass destruction across the Philippines and I’m honoured to be working with Islamic Relief to organise this dinner for such a good cause.”

Interviews: Amir will be available for interviews alongside, Heaton Labour councillor Rizwan Malik, who has organised the event.
