Joey Gamache : ”Patrick and Micki Nielsen will be world champions

Brothers Patrick and Micki Nielsen are in capable hands ahead of their title fights on February 15th at the Albertslund MusikTeatret, Copenhagen.

Their coach, 47-year-old Joey Gamache, is a former two-time world champion and knows what it takes to go all the way.

“I honestly believe that Patrick and Micki can become world champions one day. These brothers can really box and they will only get better and better. They are dedicated, they train hard, and they give me all that I ask for. Believe me, they fight hard,” says Gamache, who made his name training boxers in American before the opportunity came to work with the Nielsen’s in Denmark.

“Both Patrick and Micki are very explosive, but otherwise they have different styles, each with their own identity. Patrick is a tough guy. A rough guy. He will do anything to get the job finished. That’s his attitude.”

“Micki has a great punch. When he hits it hurts. And that’s what it takes. He is very quiet outside the ring , but he is completely different when he steps into the ring. The kid can really hit hard.” Gamache says.

Important steps to conquering the world await the Nielsen’s in Albertslund. Patrick Nielsen is facing American Tony Jeter in the fight for the WBC Silver Middleweight World Championship while Micki Nielsen is battling Georgian Gogita Gorgiladze for the WBC Youth Cruiserweight World Title.
