Change Of Headline Fight On Bad Blood In The Black Country

Plymouth prospect, Chris Adaway, will fight for a title after stepping in to replace a former European, Commonwealth and British Champion.

The 21 year-old, who made his paid debut recently, replaces Esham Pickering on Black Country Boxing’s Bad Blood in the Black Country show at Walsall Town Hall on Saturday, 29th November.

The former Mayflower ABC starlet has a wealth of amateur experience though, having reached the ABA semi-finals and boxing for England on two occasions.

He takes on Tipton’s Lee Glover for a British Bronze Masters Featherweight Title after Pickering picked up a thigh injury.

It’s an intriguing contest as the plucky youngster with over 70 amateur bouts to his name takes on an experienced professional campaigner who has fought for the English Title at super featherweight.

“Esham Pickering has done amazing things in his career but if you have a look at his previous few fights he’s lost to people that he really shouldn’t be losing to,” Adaway told www.uko-boxing.com.

“I’m more than happy to being replacing him and feel it’s going to be a much more competitive fight now. I am coming to win.”
Tickets, priced at £30 and £50 Ringside, are available from Walsall Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900. Bad Blood in the Black Country features a host of intriguing fights though.

Halesowen super middleweight prospect, Lennox Clarke, is also in action as he looks to extend his unbeaten start to life as a professional boxer. The Black Country banger takes on Welshman, Jamie Ambler.

Coventry’s Troy ‘Terrifying’ James keeps himself ticking over whilst waiting for a shot at the Lord Lonsdale belt following his recent British Eliminator victory over Ronnie ‘The Shark’ Clark.

Fellow Coventry boxer, cruiserweight, Joe Sheriff, takes on Lincoln’s Mitch Mitchell whilst Tewkesbury light middleweight prospect, Adam Harper, faces Manchester veteran, Dee Mitchell.

Super featherweight duo, Sean ‘Showtime’ Davis (Birmingham) and Ryan Corrigan (Dudley) complete the bill against yet-to-be-named opponents.

Bad Blood in the Black Country takes place on the same night as ‘Bad Blood: Dereck Chisora vs. Tyson Fury’ in London. The Town Hall boxing will finish in time for boxing fans to make their way to The Pitch Sports Bar and Grill on Bridge Street, Walsall, where the Chisora versus Fury fight will be shown live on Giant Screens. Fight fans will be able to gain free entry into Walsall premier night spot on production of their boxing ticket.

Tickets, priced at £30 and £50 Ringside, are available from Walsall Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900. The aftershow party and weigh-in both take place at the Pitch Sports Bar and Grill on Bridge Street, Walsall.
