Davis Ready To Face His Monster

Birmingham super featherweight, Sean Davis, has revealed he motivates himself ahead of every bout by convincing himself he’s stepping into the ring with a monster.

‘Showtime’ has recorded a hat-trick of victories since turning professional earlier this year and takes on Irishman, Ben Mulligan, on Black Country Boxing’s Bad Blood in the Black Country show at Walsall Town Hall this coming Saturday (29th November).

“I never know much about my opponent but what I do is prepare for the very best that anyone will bring,” the 24 year-old told ww.uko-boxing.com. “I truly believe all the way through training that a monster is coming and he wants me. With that in mind I train hard so the monster has no answers for what I have

“I am enjoying my boxing career more than anything. It was always a dream of mine to be a professional boxer from the moment I put a pair of gloves on when I was 10 years old.

“Sometimes it is very hard on my family life as I’m hardly ever home but my partner and young daughter appreciate what I do for them. I just want to push on and make a living from the sport.

“Being ‘3 and 0’ is a good thing but I’m not one of these fighters that is consumed by records. You will never hear me say ‘I’m 3 and 0, I’m an undefeated fighter’.

“My coach, Peter Christie, and manager, Mark Wall, are looking after me. They took me up to spar Scott Quigg recently. To be learning from a world champion is unbelievable. He gave me some very good advice and guidance which for now I’ll keep to myself but, put it this way, that ‘monster’ has no chance come Saturday night.”

Davis is joined at Walsall Town Hall by a host of local boxers.

English super featherweight title challenger, Lee Glover, tops the bill as he takes on Plymouth prospect, Chris Adaway, for a British Bronze Masters Featherweight Title. The pair will weigh-in at The Pitch Sports Bar & Grill, Bridge Street, Walsall, at 1.00pm this coming Friday (28th November).

Halesowen super middleweight prospect, Lennox Clarke when he takes on Welshman, Jamie Ambler, whilst Coventry cruiserweight, Joe Sheriff, takes on Lincoln’s Mitch Mitchell.

Tewkesbury light middleweight prospect, Adam Harper, faces Manchester veteran, Dee Mitchell and Didley super featherweight, Ryan Corrigan completes the bill against Sheffield’s Qassim Hussain.

The boxing will finish in time for boxing fans to make their way to The Pitch Sports Bar and Grill on Bridge Street, Walsall, where the Bad Blood: Chisora versus Fury/Saunders versus Eubank Jr will be shown live on Giant Screens. Fight fans will be able to gain free entry into Walsall premier night spot on production of their boxing ticket.

Tickets, priced at £30 and £50 Ringside, are available from Walsall Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900. The aftershow party and weigh-in both take place at the Pitch Sports Bar and Grill on Bridge Street, Walsall.
