Ringnews P4P No. 1 and WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KOs) scored a dominant twelve round unanimous decision over former IBF champion Joshua Clottey (35-4, 20 KOs) in front of 50,994 on Saturday night at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The fight was fought in an electric atmosphere. Pacquiao used his speed and superior boxing ability to outwork Clottey in almost every round. The Ghanaian spent long periods with his guard up and only occasionally tagged Pacman with uppercuts, the Filipino used bodyshots to great effect through-out the fight. Manny, who was the visibly smaller man on the night, took Clottey’s best shots on the rare occasions that the Ghanaian landed.
Clottey did his best in the final rounds to land the big shots but Manny always cameback firing. Scores were 120-108, 119-109, 119-109.
