A deal which could land Ricky Burns a world title shot in Glasgow has been agreed early accoring to reports.

The Coatbridge boxer has been lined up to fight Puerto Rican World Super-Featherweight Champion Roman Martinez.

The clash had looked set to take place in Puerto Rico, home of Roman Martinez. But after negotiations, involving promoter Frank Warren and manager Alex Morrison, an agreement has been reached which will see the bout brought to the United Kingdom.

RingNews24 understands that an announcement could be made soon, with the fight likely to be scheduled for the Kelvin Hall in April.

Burns faces a tough task as he takes on the undefeated Martinez, who has won 23 of his 24 fights.

Burns can now put his business head on and get down the the hard graft of training and accomplishing his dream of being a world title holder.
