The latest episode of Zutes Boxing Talk featured three pugilists who might not have come across your living room, or streaming App, as of yet. Two of these youngsters are on the rise, Tyler Howard and Tyrek Irby, while the third fighter, Calixto Cruz, is just starting out and had had only one professional fight at press time.
Zutes Boxing Talk has a long and proud history of featuring young fighters before they were headliners in primetime. Danny Swift Garcia, Regis Prograis, Chris Algeri, Joshua Greer, Rob Brant, Teofimo Lopez and Gary Russell Jr. are among the fighters who came on the show and went on to super stardom and/or world championship contention. Our three guests tonight seem to be on the same path. Tyler Howard of Top Rank Boxing is the standout of this group and should be fighting for a world title later this year. Irby and Cruz have the right pedigree and appear to be in good hands in terms of management. The sky is the limit for Irby and Cruz, but they have more of a developing process ahead of them compared to Howard.
One of the greatest things about what I do is following these young fighters and find out where they have come from and where they might end up. Making this episode of Zutes Boxing Talk a very special one.
